Hoover Breeze EVO Upright Vacuum Cleaner

I ordered this off Amazon at the same time I ordered the Hyundai Wet & Dry thing I wrote about previously as we also needed a new upright vacuum cleaner that actually works.

For years we’d had a vintage Hoover Senior 652 that still worked well enough, but my Dad sent that to the tip and replaced it with an Oreck XL upright thing inherited from my Grandma’s and had stashed for a few years (and had started giving off electric shocks through the handle)

This left us with only the Oreck cylinder vacuum cleaner also from my Grandma’s the used bags not really that much bigger than a coffee mug (otherwise it worked, apart from the flap for changing the bag and plugging the hose into frequently falling off).

So I opted to get one of these while Amazon had a decent discount on it. The original listing I got it from appears to have been whacked, but at time of writing it has a 21% discount taking the price down to £79 instead of the £99.99 regular price.

The Hoover Breeze Evo Upright Vacuum is of a bagless design with a bin (3-litre capacity) that unclips for emptying, and also has a long electrical cord and a long hose.

It seems to work pretty well at most things I’ve thrown at it, and the see through blue coloured plastic makes it easy to spot the majority of clogs affecting suction performance.

I acquired one of these from Amazon in November 2025 after eyeing it and the larger model for months, and took the opportunity to snap one up when they had some money knocked off the £69.99 regular price, so I got it for under £55.

We’ve needed a new Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner for some years now, for if things hit the fan with needing a lot of water cleared up and for more heavy duty DIY tasks

We previously had an original 1980’s VAX Wet & Dry Vacuum cleaner inherited from my Grandparents, but the motor on that went up in smoke, and my Dad sent the whole thing to the tip – even though at the time we could’ve still got a replacement top part to replace the motor for about the same price this Hyundai thing normally sells for.

This Hyundai HYVI2512 Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner comes with a 1200-watt motor and a 25-litre tank for holding water it’s sucked up.

Some assembly is required when you unbox this Hyundai Wet & Dry Vacuum, including the wheels to snap in place and the tools to put on it’s storage points.

The Hyundai HYVI2512 Wet & Dry Vacuum Cleaner worked pretty well the first couple of times I used it, but by the 3rd time the HEPA filter was already clogged with dustbunnies, and there were mixed results when I tried to use it. It mostly managed ok with some spilled puffed rice cereal, but kept dropping my Dad’s glucose test strips he keeps dropping on the livingroom floor.
